Hybrid Working 
Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction 
•    This is team leader position, which is responsible for supporting CBE Strategic Analytics 
•    As a thought leadership role you are responsible for the delivery of value-add actionable insight 
•    Develop, maintain and execute strategies to optimise profit within the target business strategy and risk appetite constraints 
•    Monitor and assess through structured processes the CBE consumer portfolio performance and trend 
•    Use analysis to influence strategic decisions
•    Support the resulting strategy through test and learn activities
•    Supporting a culture where best practice is shared between geographies and the status quo is effectively challenged
•    Manage your team in an effective and efficient manner, continually driving improvements

The purpose of the Barclays CBE Credit Management team is to:
•    Support and lead the development, tracking and review of business strategies, financial plans and operational performance within the Board approved Risk Appetite
•    Support and lead the development and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures and controls for FLoD credit management activities as per the ERMF and associated RMF
•    Support and lead the development and maintenance of customer underwriting strategies across products and channels consistent with policy, standard and governance requirements
•    Monitor financial, operational and portfolio performance controls to achieve Risk Return objectives within defined threshold; tracking performance relative to expectation, YoY, forecast, plan and industry benchmarks
•    Implement mitigation activities to prevent or remediate a breach of Risk Appetite and / or Risk Return objectives
•    Participate in Credit Management Fora preparing appropriate materials to meet expectations and deliverables for which FLoD are responsible
•    Oversee collections, fraud and operations activities related to credit decision lifecycle
•    Collaborate with cross functional areas in the analytical solutions for impairment, model and PnL analytical solutions
•    Support and lead model management activities for all linked models relevant to the credit lifecycle from model development to model ownership
•    Develop data, analytics and financial assets, capabilities, products and services to support the analytical advancement in data driven solutions and the culture of high performance

What will you be doing?
Actionable Insight (33%) 
•    Providing best in class analytics, transforming high level requests into focussed and specific analysis
•    Identifying new opportunities for enhancing/streamlining services
•    Formulating opportunities into proposals, sharing with the manager and implementing
•    Maintenance of credit criteria, models and strategies
•    Maintenance of control monitoring and documentation of processes, procedures and strategies in relation to credit management


Stakeholder Management (33%)
•    Working effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives
•    Presenting and communicating results to Senior Management and driving stakeholder discussions
•    Proactively drive strategy by challenging senior stakeholders where appropriate
•    Ensure that lessons are learnt and earnings are optimised

Line Management (33%)
•    Provide inspirational leadership demonstrating commitment to the strategic goals as well as focusing on execution and delivery
•    Develop a high performing team through support / challenge / direction of direct reports
•    Lead the vision / goals / objectives of the team
•    Ensure professional development of direct reports through coaching and feedback
•    Contribute as a leader to the development of the SA team

What we’re looking for:
•    Industry experience (ideally major international financial services unsecured lending)
•    A degree/diploma in a numerate/analytical/business related discipline
•    Conceptual thinking – find innovative ways to solve analytical problems
•    Technical analytic skills including (but not limited to):
    Use of SAS/SQL or similar tools in past
    Experience in credit and financial modeling (NPV/P&L) to drive strategic decisions
    Use of vintage, segment and swap set analysis in building recommendations
    Experience of test design to create data for future strategy optimisation
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story that drives action
•    History of influencing senior management to gain buy-in to strategic change and working with partner teams within organization to deliver this
•    Track record of delivering accurate results within tight deadlines
•    Experience in leading, motivating, managing and developing individuals
•    Strong interpersonal skills, influence and conflict management.
•    Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
•    Strong attention to detail, and a real commitment to delivering high quality outputs which are right first time

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience analysing programmes through the lens of brand / customer engagement metrics as well as P&L 
•    Understanding of statistical methods including (but not limited to):
    Regression modelling
    Tree modelling
    Statistical hypothesis testing frameworks
•    Experience in ‘Big Data’ analytics e.g. Hadoop 
•    Experience of identifying needs, developing and delivering training to analysts 
•    Local and international market knowledge in consumer finance
