Join us as a Security Engineer at Barclays where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. The purpose of this role is to develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of the banks systems and sensitive information.

The key accountabilities of the role include; building, deploy and maintaining DLP services and policies, driving service-level incidents through to remediation, creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, engaging with stakeholders to ensure requirements are prioritised and expectations are set, working with other DLP SME’s to ensure adequate service coverage across DLP tooling, evaluating and implementing technical changes and project deliverables and engaging product vendors where necessary for incident investigation and product enhancements

To be successful as a Security Engineer you should have experience with:

  • Experience building and maintaining data-in-motion and data-at-rest DLP controls in a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex systems.
  • Solid understanding of industry-standard SaaS products and relation to DLP challenges.
  • Able to articulate complicated processes to non-technical stakeholders.

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Experience with specific tooling such as Symantec Data Loss Prevention, Zscaler, BigID, Microsoft Purview, ServiceNow DLP Incident Response.
  • Proficiency with use of SIEM services for problem solving and proactive alerting.
  • Understanding of enterprise storage and filers in the context of content inspection and remediation.
  • Understanding of Microsoft information protection in the context of sensitivity labels and encryption

This role will be based out of our Knutsford, Northampton and Glasgow campus'

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of the banks systems and sensitive information.  

Accountabilities

  • Provision of subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
  • Development and implementation of protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Management and protection of secrets, ensuring that they are securely generated, stored, and used.
  • Execution of audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in the banks infrastructure/software and support the response to potential security breaches.
  • Identification of advancements in to support the innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
  • Collaboration across the bank, including developers and security teams, to ensure that cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Development/ Implementation and maintenance of Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
