Explore locationBarclays is seeking a curious and aspiring Data Scientist with a foundation in language models and generative artificial intelligence to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career, looking to apply their academic and coding experience in a practical, high-impact environment.
To be successful as a Data Scientist in the Group Control Quantitative Analytics team, you should have experience in the following areas:
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Programming skills in Python, with experience in data science and machine learning libraries.
A solid academic or practical foundation in language model development, in particular generative artificial intelligence.
Other highly valued skills and experience include:
Cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
Distributed computing frameworks like Spark/PySpark.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking
and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be located at our London office.
