Decision Analyst

Join us as a Decision Analyst in the Client Insights team. The Client Insights team exist to create new data products and insights for direct consumption by Barclays corporate clients, and run a range of existing products marketed under Client Insights in Global Transaction Banking, by commercialising the vast data we hold on our clients, their products, markets and competitors.

The purpose of the role is to create insights, in collaboration with product and proposition management, focussing on key business issues relating to external clients using the Barclays transactional and demographic data, on the Hadoop-based platform. There is also a focus on creating new data assets, models and indicators to commercialise within the datasets, and contributing to the cloud migration agenda through new tooling such as AWS and Tableau/Power BI.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least some years of working within a data and analytics function/team and an understanding of big data platforms, data analytics and reporting tools and techniques.
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and building effective relationships across the business and geographies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in data visualisation software

Other desirable skills include:

• Experience of big data platforms such as Hadoop and Teradata
• Experience in applying Data Science/AI/ML preferred
• Familiarity with AWS

This role is located in London.

Purpose of the role

To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments. 

Accountabilities

• Identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources.
• Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
• Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models.
• Development and implementation of data quality control procedures.
• Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas.
