Explore locationAs Head of Structured Products Automation, your primary responsibility will be to offer legal advice and support to the business units within the Markets division. This role involves addressing matters related to the products and services provided by the Structured Notes Team. This role entails regular engagement with regulatory authorities, collaboration with external law firms, and close cooperation with front office colleagues, business managers, and legal and business teams across departments such as Treasury and Wealth. Your role will also include providing substantial support to both automation and manual drafting teams.
To be successful in this position, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
• A qualified lawyer with experience in a top-tier private practice, preferably with prior in-house experience at a leading financial institution, ideally within the Markets Division.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience in Structured Products, particularly those sold indirectly to retail investors.
• Excellent drafting skills for Structured Products documentation, including Base Prospectuses and Final Terms.
• A background in legal automation.
Additionally, the following skills are highly valued:
• Proficiency in French, Italian, or German languages would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and multi-dimensional environment.
• A strong commercial acumen with a keen interest in performance drivers and a passion for continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying highly technical qualitative analysis and advice clearly and concisely to both legal and non-legal audiences, both orally and in writing.

This role is a full-time permanent position based in London.
Purpose of the role
To ensure that the activities of the business units in the Markets division are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and to help the bank manage legal risk associated with these activities.
