Join us as a Strategy, Planning and Performance Manager and work closely with members of the immediate team, as well as stakeholders across all areas of PBWM covering distribution, product and servicing, and our functional areas. As required, they may need to build trusted relationships with teams elsewhere in the Barclays Group outside of PBWM and with 3rd parties. They will be a natural collaborator, relationship builder and strong communicator, able to interact and partner with a diverse spectrum of colleagues irrespective of seniority or specialism, and in bringing together and leading small groups of colleagues to solve discreet business problems. They will also support the preparation of materials and updates to senior forums and leadership offsites. Their natural curiosity will help them collaborate with and learn from others and be passionate about their own development.

Essential Skills

The right candidate will have:

  • A qualification at degree level.

  • Strong numeracy and creativity in their approach to structuring and solving business problems through a combination of analysis and intuition.

  • Experience in shaping business strategy, undertaking business planning and performance tracking, shaping strategic initiatives including developing proposition, product/service or distribution (including digital) solutions from a client, colleague, commercial and risk perspective.

  • Strong attention to detail, written and oral communication skills.

Desirable skills

The right candidate will ideally have:

  • Knowledge of Private Banking or Wealth Management.

  • A track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders and virtual teams in complex environments.

  • A natural curiosity toward business issues and their own personal development.

Purpose of the role

To analyse and assess market trends, competitor landscape, and potential risks and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.

Accountabilities

  • Development and presentation of compelling strategic recommendations to senior management, addressing key business challenges and opportunities.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of implemented strategies, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Communication of complex strategic information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
  • Identification and assessment of potential risks associated with the bank's strategic plans and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conducting in-depth research and analysis of internal and external data, including market trends, competitor analysis, and economic forecasts.
