Barclays are seeking a Rates Product Manager to join a high-performing Global Markets team. Acting as the bridge between Front Office stakeholders, clients, vendors, and technology teams, you will play a key role in shaping and enhancing trading capabilities across voice and electronic channels. You will work closely with trading desks to understand and document requirements, make key prioritization decisions thatdrive product and platform improvements, and ensure solutions align with business objectives. The role offers significant exposure to traders, sales teams, clients, market infrastructure providers, and senior stakeholders, providing an excellent opportunity to influence strategic initiatives while delivering tangible value to the business and its clients.
To be successful as a Rates Product Manager you should have:
- Proven experience within a Credit, FX, Rates or Equities Front Office environment
- Valid understanding of Linear Rates products, markets, and trading workflows
- Knowledge of trading systems architecture and electronic trading ecosystems
- Basic technical/coding skills with the ability to work closely with technology teams
- Excellent requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Other skills of value include:
- Understanding of Non-Linear Rates products and associated trading strategies
- Strong appreciation of how trading desks generate revenue and monetise flows
- Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple concurrent projects
- Experience engaging with trading venues, vendors, and market infrastructure providers

Purpose of the role
To develop, launch, and manage the portfolio of financial products and services for the global markets, collaborating with a team of product managers, traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders to define product strategies, develop roadmaps, and bring new products to market, also playing a key role in gathering and analysis of market intelligence, identifying client needs, and developing competitive differentiators.
Accountabilities
- Development and execution of product strategy for financial products and services offered within the Markets division.
- Identification of market opportunities and customer needs to create new products or enhance existing ones.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including traders, sales, risk management, and technology, to define product requirements.
- Market data analysis to make informed decisions regarding product positioning and pricing.
- Management of the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing maintenance.
- Monitoring of product performance, through analysing metrics and client feedback.
