Explore locationAs a Barclays Senior Strategy and Planning Manager, you will lead high-impact strategic projects that shape the future direction of Business Banking Product. You will combine market insight, commercial analysis and internal performance data to identify opportunities and risks, evaluate strategic choices, and provide independent and balanced advice and clear recommendations to senior decision-makers. Your work will contribute to the development and evolution of Business Banking overall strategy, support sustainable growth, strong client outcomes, and long-term shareholder value.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Degree qualified (or equivalent professional experience) with significant experience in strategy, strategic planning, business transformation, or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of banking or financial services, with experience developing strategic propositions, products, services, customer journeys, or distribution solutions, including digital channels.
Proven ability to shape business strategy and translate it into execution, including developing business cases, evaluating strategic trade-offs, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Highly commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret financial, market and operational data and solve complex, ambiguous business challenges through structured thinking.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence, challenge and build consensus at Executive and Board level, alongside strong organisational skills, and attention to detail
Other desirable skills and experience include:
Experience gained within a management consulting, strategy consulting, or in-house corporate strategy environment, supporting the development and delivery of strategic initiatives.
Experience working with senior stakeholders on Board, regulatory, investor or executive-facing activities, ideally within large-scale transformation programmes in a complex, regulated organisation.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be based in our London office.
Purpose of the role
To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develops the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.
