New chapter. New possibilities. New social playbook.

Barclaycard Payments is changing. We’re at an exciting point of transition, with an opportunity to rethink our brand, our voice and how we connect with the businesses and people we serve.

And we don’t want to simply take the old social playbook with us.

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract who wants to help us build what comes next. You’ll shape our social strategy, lead standout campaigns and find new ways to make Barclaycard Payments relevant, distinctive and talked about.

AI will be a big part of that. We want to revolutionise our approach to content creation, using AI to help us generate and develop ideas, adapt creative for different audiences and channels, and produce high-quality content at a pace and scale we simply couldn’t achieve through traditional ways of working.

This is a role for someone who wants to experiment. Someone who understands that AI should make creativity bigger, faster and smarter, not blander. And someone who can combine technology with the judgement, taste and understanding of audiences that still makes brilliant social feel human.

Sound like you?

  • Gets payments and B2B audiences, understanding the market, our customers and the issues that matter to them.

  • Can make agencies brilliant, confidently managing scope, resource, budgets and performance while creating the conditions for great work.
  • Knows creators and partnerships, and how influencers, experts, partners and personalities can extend reach and build credibility.
  • Thinks commercially as well as creatively, connecting social activity with the full marketing funnel and clear business outcomes.
  • Can bring people with them, from creative partners to senior stakeholders.
  • Likes building while flying, because transformation doesn't always come with a perfectly written instruction manual.

To be successful as a Social Media Manager, you should have the following essential skills:

  • Some experience supporting or delivering social media activity across different channels.
  • Experience working within the payments industry, with a good understanding of the market, customer trends and key industry developments.
  • Experience working with external agencies or partners to help deliver social media activity.
  • Experience working with influencers, content creators or brand partnerships to support reach and engagement.
  • A good understanding of how social media contributes to both brand awareness and wider business goals.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, agencies and external partners.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
