Join Barclays as a Debit Capital Markets Associate, in Mexico City. You will be responsible for the evaluation, content generation and recommendations to best advise clients on their capital needs/structures. Evaluate financial data and market trends with a critical mind and draw conclusions which are backed by well thought supporting arguments. You will also be accountable for assisting in different simultaneous work streams, coordinating with various teams, prioritizing work effectively and handling pressure. Communicate ideas clearly and can breakdown highly detailed inquires or concepts into more structured ideas/solutions. Show constant willingness to learn, grow, and take on more responsibility, with a consistent positive attitude and approach. Be resourceful and strive to understand concepts thoroughly, be curious and strive to investigate and learn the why behind every concept and work stream. Communicate in an organized, concise, and articulated manner, in order to support various work-streams both during the idea origination and execution phases of a transaction.

To be successful as a Debit Capital Markets Associate, you should have experience with:

  • Working in debt capital markets and/or corporate finance

  • Knowledge and understanding of capital markets (instruments, market dynamics, among others)

  • Building presentations, modelling, and execution (in particular, loans market experience)

  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, and Bloomberg

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • High level of motivation and focus on work quality and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Spanish preferred)

  • Ability to perform vying priorities and tight deadlines

  • Demonstrates good judgment around client engagement and transaction execution

This role is located in Mexico City, Mexico.

Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis.  

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives.  .
  • Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offerings, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions.  .
  • Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions.  .
  • Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements.  .
  • Research, financial data analysis and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations.  .
