Explore locationJoin us as a “AVP Structured Credit Trading GCFS” in Structured Credit trading team at Barclays focuses on trading bespoke structured products and structuring specific solutions for clients. Using underlying credit instruments, including Corporate, Financial & Sovereign bonds, single name CDS and Loans, the team aims to create products that cater to the specific needs of a client. Within Structured Credit Trading, the business is split as liability-side (or financing) business, asset-side business & CLO business.
To be a successful “AVP Structured Credit Trading GCFS” The Liability side business focuses on providing bespoke financing solutions to credit funds, FIs and banks against wide variety of credit assets – both on a recourse and non-recourse basis. The Asset side business specializes in providing credit linked investment products to investors for yield enhancement. The Primary CLO business focuses on raising capital for our clients by arranging & placing portfolio of assets in CLO warehouses which are tranched and sold to institutional investors in the form of issuances.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, role sits within the Global Credit Financing & Solutions (GCFS) team and is responsible for driving execution, risk ownership, and strategic development of single asset financing and asset-backed lending (ABL) activities across US and EU desks. The candidate will work closely with traders, structurers, and global stakeholders to manage complex transactions, taking end-to-end ownership of risk, PnL, and lifecycle management of trades. In addition to technical delivery, the role will require leading and mentoring junior team members, acting as a key bridge between front office and control/support functions, and actively contributing to enhancing desk productivity through process improvement, automation, and thoughtful leadership.
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
Lead the team in managing all risk, book-keeping and trade lifecycle events including: margin calls, interest payments, RWA/LBS, hedges, exposure calculations, book funding and trigger events.
Help manage all risk reports (credit risk, funding) and daily PnL reconciliations.
Assist in monitoring the credit performance of the obligors in the existing trades, including by use of proprietary data sources and summarizing information using Barclays provided AI tools like CoPilot.
Drive optimisation and automation of desk tools, analytics, and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
Act as a key escalation point for complex/non-standard transactions and problem situations.
Ensure robust governance, controls, and compliance across all activities.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
Strong expertise in structured credit products, including TRS, repo financing, and ABL structures.
Proven experience in working closely with trading desks and influencing decision-making.
Experience in leading or mentoring team members, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
High degree of ownership, accountability, and commercial mindset.
Candidate must be a self-starter and very pro-active.
Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to multi-task.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
This role will be based out of NKP Mumbai.
Purpose of the role
Desk Analysts cover relevant sectors and credits and watch for news events. Desk Analysts work with Traders and Salespeople to convey company and market updates internally and externally to clients. Desk Analysts build financial models for the purpose of forecasting financial performance and evaluating capital structure opportunities. Desk Anaylsts spend significant time researching relevant companies and their industries to identify emerging trends which will impact subject company performance. Diligence consists of reading and understanding industry press, company financial reports and documents, expert interviews, and meeting with company management teams.
