Join us as a " Research Operations Analyst " at Barclays, Global Research Team. Barclays Global research provides a wide range of unique ideas to help our clients make the best investment decisions. By leveraging our industry leading global macro expertise and integrating our research across asset classes, we provide our clients with unique research and market intelligence.

To be a successful "Research Operations Analyst" – This candidate would be managing the process for capturing and standardizing broker votes. The candidate will work closely with Research business managers to capture broker vote data from various client formats in a pre-defined structure and format using a web based portal. This successful candidate will own this process across the Americas and European client base and will engage with multiple stakeholders to ensure capture is completed in a timely fashion on an ongoing basis.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience in a data intensive process and hands on reporting experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment.

  • Strong interest in the subject matter.

  • Resourcefulness, and proactive attitude.

  • Proficient in MS Excel using Macros and MS Office applications with the knowledge of lookups, functions and basic reporting in Excel.

  • Ability to work during UK business hours.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Master’s Degree.

  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts and implement them.

  • Strong interest in the subject matter.

  • Resourcefulness, and proactive attitude.

  • Report development using SAP Business Objects is preferable.

  • Basic understanding of financial terms and the research business would be an added advantage.

  • In depth understanding of the broker vote process within a research environment would be an advantage but not essential.

This role will be based out of NKP Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients. 

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
  • Research may range from individual company or sector notes, through to long dated thematic reports.
  • Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face to face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
  • Engagement with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders, to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally. Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable Clients for your Research.
  • Provision of insights and Research views to internal Clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
  • Collaboration with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
