Working closely with stakeholders throughout the business, you will provide expert guidance on health and safety obligations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The position also involves overseeing construction-related activities across the region, including supporting significant redesign and redevelopment projects at our US headquarters, ensuring health and safety considerations are integrated throughout every stage of delivery.
To be successful as a US Health & Safety Manager, you should have:
Proven ability to influence and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organization
A solid understanding of applicable health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply requirements in a practical and proportionate manner
Experience working within a corporate environment, ideally in real estate, workplace services, or facilities management
Demonstrated experience overseeing contractors and ensuring safe practices throughout construction-related activities
Sound knowledge of fire safety principles, including experience conducting and reviewing fire risk assessments
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Knowledge of risk management frameworks and the ability to apply risk-based thinking to health and safety decision-making
Understanding of, and practical experience working with, ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems
Experience operating within a large, complex organization, effectively navigating multiple stakeholders, functions, and regulatory requirements
ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification or a commitment to obtaining the certification is desirable
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in New York, NY.
Minimum Salary: $95,000
Maximum Salary: $140,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
Purpose of the role
To develop and support the bank’s health & safety strategy and health & safety management system including policies, procedures and risk assessments. Monitor execution and report on health and safety performance, identifying areas of emerging health, safety and fire risk that require improvement.
