What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Vice President, SMAD in New York, New York (multiple positions available):

  • Analyzes market data and build statistical models and conduct research on financial data to develop algorithms for trading FX currencies, optimizing order execution and provide insights on how market behaves.
  • Design and test mathematical and algorithmic ideas for electronic trading.
  • Analyze data and apply mathematical and statistical techniques to help address issues such as portfolio construction or optimization, performance measurement, attribution, profit and loss measurement, or pricing models.
  • Develop core analytical capabilities or model libraries, using advanced statistical, quantitative, or mathematical concepts and techniques.
  • Devise or apply independent models or tools to help verify results of analytical systems and interpret results of financial analysis procedures.
  • Identify, track, or maintain metrics for trading system operations.
  • Implement machine learning and AI models for price, volume and other signals to evolve the algorithmic trading products.
  • Conduct microstructure analysis to ensure algorithms are fit for the specified markets.
  • Design and tune algorithmic trading strategies to improve performance and/or P&L.
  • Help train and supervise junior members to develop talent pool for the desk.
  • Participate in recruiting events and interview candidates for the team.
  • May Telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $206K per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $250K per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.
