To be successful as an AVP- Pan-bank  CCO  Support, you  should have  experience with:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Risk & Control function of an Investment Bank’s  Banking/Global Markets division. 
  • Excellent organisational and project management  skills with  the  ability to multi-task and work under pressure to observe deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and discipline.
  • Experience in a control, governance or oversight function.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders, including presenting at meetings,  supporting and challenging stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Pragmatic, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to  team members.
  • Successful communicator with the ability to provide clear and succinct verbal and written updates.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • University degree or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Proven project management, planning and organizational skills with the  ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple deliverables  simultaneously. 
  • Deep execution experiences with a demonstrated ability to  meet and enforce deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving  skills and  ability to comprehend  the big  picture  with high attention to critical details.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Competency with MS Suite, LEAN/Six Sigma would be an added advantage.

Purpose of the role

To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.  

Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
  • Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank’s control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
  • Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
  • Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
