To be successful as a Product Owner you should have experience with:

  • Business or Technical graduate with at least 5 years of engineering and/or product experience. Has the technical knowledge to assess build options and make recommendations.

  • Experience of making strategic changes to the journey so that products and services from Barclays is more accessible for customers with a simpler end to end journey. The initiatives will improve journeys across all channels with a heightened focus in digital.

  • Experience of Product Owner/Management skills.

  • Experience leading and delivering a strategic technical change programme. 
    articulate technology requirements for a feature/API. Ask the right technical questions; can identify risks in technology design choices.

  • Experience of Problem-Solving. Being able to tackle complex tasks and find appropriate solutions.

  • Have prior Market Knowledge: market trends and competitive landscape to make informed decisions within hiring department is a plus.

  • Business Acumen and Risk Management: Understanding of the broader business strategies to align transformation decisions with Barclays objectives and risk appetite. A consistently excellent way of working against the 4 pillars.

  • Knowledge of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring risk and control are at the heart of all our change delivery.

Some other highly valued skills includes:

  • Provides oversite on effort estimation, funding, effort burn rate to help project managers in execution of projects.

  • Works closely with project managers for timely delivery of features mostly part of large flagship programmes.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To deliver business value & backlog prioritisation for customer journeys or business capabilities used by customer, clients and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Alignment of Propositional and Commercial outcomes to the wider Business Agenda and Strategy and ratifies the Benefits Cases from both a cost to deliver and achievability perspective.
  • Prioritisation and management of the backlog of requirements both at Journey/capability level and within the scope of the defined Projects/Releases.
  • Planning of ‘show & tell’ sessions, engagement with stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Collaboration with the delivery & release team on planning based on release scope, budget & team velocity and accountable for ‘Product’ related LCP governance & engagement with business control tribes.
  • Review and acceptance of user stories, with final recommendation of what is being released to customers and definition of UAT/E2E testing scope and scenarios.
  • Implementation of go live business readiness activities including training, live proving & operational engagement.
  • Post release Business Outcome closure, including residual stories/defects for prioritisation into small change and the on-going performance of delivered capabilities.
