Embark on a transformative journey as IFC Data- Data Modeler is responsible for designing, governing and delivering high‑quality data models that underpin enterprise‑scale Data Products. The role focuses on translating complex business and regulatory requirements into clear, reusable and scalable data structures that support analytics, reporting, controls and downstream consumption.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring data products are accurate, consistent, well‑governed and fit for purpose, working closely with business, technology and analytics stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modelling & Data Product Design

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models to support Data Products across multiple business domains.

  • Translate business requirements into well‑structured data entities, attributes and relationships.

  • Ensure data models support reuse, scalability, auditability and long‑term sustainability.

  • Apply appropriate modelling techniques including normalization, dimensional modelling, history handling and audit attributes.

Data Discovery & Requirements Translation

  • Partner with business and control stakeholders to understand data requirements, use cases and reporting needs.

  • Perform data discovery across source systems and existing datasets to inform target‑state design.

  • Produce clear data dictionaries, mappings and lineage artefacts to support build and testing.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure data models align to enterprise data governance standards including data quality, data ownership, privacy and records management.

  • Embed controls and design principles that support regulatory, audit and risk expectations.

  • Support data issue analysis and remediation through strong understanding of underlying data structures.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with engineering, architecture and platform teams to ensure data models are build‑ready and technically feasible.

  • Act as a trusted data design partner within delivery teams, providing clarity on data semantics and design intent.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data modelling standards, templates and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical) within complex data environments.

  • Proven experience supporting Data Products, analytics platforms or enterprise data initiatives.

  • Solid understanding of relational data design, joins, cardinality, history management and data integrity.

  • Hands‑on experience producing data mappings, data dictionaries and lineage documentation.

  • Hands-on experience in relational databases like Oracle or DB2 or SQL Server etc  

  • Experience with Data Warehousing 

  • Strong Data Analysis & Profiling skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. risk, compliance, finance, controls).

  • Exposure to large‑scale data platforms, modern data architectures or cloud ecosystems.

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks and privacy considerations.

  • Experience supporting data modernization or legacy platform migration initiatives.

  • Experience of working within a System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile project environment (Agile Central, JIRA, Confluence) 

  • Experience working with Cloud Platforms.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, implement, and maintain conceptual, Logical and Physical data models that meet business data/process and technology requirements, by using designs and data strategies across a wide selection of platforms. 

Accountabilities

  • Analysis and documentation of business requirements to translate them into data models aligned with organisational goals.
  • Development and maintenance of data dictionaries and glossaries to define data elements and their usage.
  • Analysis and monitoring of data usage patterns to identify opportunities for data optimisation and improvement, in partnership with the Data Base Administrator.
  • Strategic architecture definition and product selection.
  • Production of logical designs in relevant subject area (technical, data, operational), showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs. Identifying common components.
  • Implementation of architectures and Identification, ownership and resolution of design related issues.
  • Definition and documentation of data architectures standards, principles and strategies.
