The Private Banking team offers banking and investment solutions to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Barclays Private Bankers act as trusted advisers, delivering tailored banking, lending, wealth structuring and investment solutions through a world-class platform and specialist network.
As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for building, managing and growing your own portfolio of client relationships, generating sustainable revenue growth and identifying new business opportunities within Guernsey and the wider Barclays network. You will represent Barclays Private Bank in the local market, developing professional introducer relationships and positioning Barclays as the trusted adviser of choice for wealthy individuals, families and business owners.
Private Bankers are expected to identify, originate, build and maintain effective internal and external referral relationships to create sustainable opportunity flows for new clients, assets under management and revenue generation. Success in the role will be measured through client acquisition, book growth, revenue generation, client retention and collaboration across Barclays businesses

Purpose
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
Accountabilities
Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients - identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs
Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long term commercial reward
Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk
Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Service/group relationships - referrals to group colleagues
