Explore locationJoin us as a Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking Associate at Barclays Canada where you advise clients on a wide range of strategic transactions. You will have the opportunity to conduct industry research, analyze key trends and opportunities. The FIG Associate develops financial models, valuations and manages the execution of transactions. You will prepare and deliver presentations to clients and senior leadership, while nurturing and building strong relationships with other industry professionals.
To be successful as a Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking Associate at Barclays Canada, you should have:
Relevant experience as well as deep understanding of FIG sector or previous M&A experience
Proven track record of being involved in executing transactions, high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, client management and demonstrated leadership ability in guiding and training the juniors of the team
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience originating deals in the FIG space, identifying potential clients and/or opportunities.
Previous experience participating in conferences, and events as dictated by the sector or industry
Ownership of client relationship and deals, while making key decisions during the transaction process
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job specific technical skills.

This role is based in Toronto.
