This summer was a really great experience and I had the chance to meet great people, as well as expanding my knowledge about the banking industry.
To give you an idea of how (even less than) basic my Excel skills were when I started, it took me at least two days to come up with my first spreadsheet analysis as I did not know the formulae and also did not know that you could use the keypad to select data in a table – I think you can imagine how long it took me to scroll down to copy data from A3 to A12672. However as weeks (and spreadsheets) went by, I managed to navigate my way around this little masterpiece of technology that is Excel. I learnt the shortcuts, different formulae, and was able to build my own spreadsheet from A to Z for one of my projects.
During the course of my internship, I worked on a wide variety of projects that were all quite different from each other. Some involved spending hours on Excel, others running around the floor to speak to the other teams. What I most enjoyed is that I always had something to do and I was especially able to switch tasks quite easily. I also felt very lucky to be part of such a welcoming and supportive team, who were always there whenever I needed help.
