Assistant Manager

Step into the role of Assistant Manager at Barclays, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future. In this pivotal role you will manage operations within a business area and maintain processes, risk management initiatives, and compliance with relevant regulators. You will take ownership of your work, ensuring it aligns with the relevant rules & regulations, and codes of conduct.

You will support Private Bank & Wealth Management (PBWM) operations through daily processing, reporting, controls, and issue resolution while ensuring strong risk and compliance standards. You will collaborate across teams to improve client service delivery, operational efficiency, and implementation of best practices.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

• Perform day-to-day PBWM processing, reporting, and account/service reviews ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Support client relationship management by identifying client needs and ensuring service expectations are met.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of controls to mitigate risks.

• Prepare performance reports and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.

• Support projects and initiatives aimed at improving PBWM efficiency and service effectiveness.

Desirable skills set:

• Strong understanding of Private Banking / Wealth Management operations and regulatory environment.

• Client onboarding experience including KYC and AML compliance knowledge.

• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

• Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

This role is based out of Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To support PBWM with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

• Support with day-to-day Private Bank and Wealth Management initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution with regards to accounts, products and services.
• Support the management of the banks client relations to clearly identify their needs and provide a service that meets expectations.
• Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Private Bank and Wealth Management processes.
• Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Private Bank and Wealth Management processes.
• Development and implementation of Private Bank and Wealth Management procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
• Development of reports and presentations on Private Bank and Wealth Management performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
• Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Private Bank and Wealth Management Services.
• Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Private Bank and Wealth Management efficiency and effectiveness.
