Key Accountabilities
Analyse Client data and documentation stored in the KYC Files to determine whether Policy and regulatory requirements are met.
Assist assignment team leader/AVP in the preparation of Executive summaries, reports and Management Information.
Document all testing to a standard that allows reperformance of the work by an independent third party. (Workpapers will be available for inspection by auditors and other third parties).
Proactively learn and build knowledge of Barclays ERMF and policies, and Financial Crime Key Risk Framework.
Support the embedding of all relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Facilitate and share knowledge and best practices.
Use expert KYC knowledge to analyse KYC information for a broad range of corporate clients, including a wide variety of specialist industry sectors and various unique/bespoke projects.
Use strong problem solving and team working skills to resolve complex cases, ensuring the Bank’s Policy and regulatory requirements are always met.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful and high quality delivery of core QA activities.
Promote efficient and consistent application of processes alongside a culture of continuous improvement and sharing of best practices.
Use strong time management skills to complete complex, critical tasks within pressured timescales.
Contribute to successful Stakeholder relationships.
Build effective relationships with KYC Operations and Financial Crime to ensure collaboration on key shared objectives.
Work closely with other KYC QA Analysts to support KYC Leadership in delivering an outstanding performance across the team, demonstrating excellent behaviours and positively embracing and contributing to the KYC change programme.
Contribute to a positive, supportive and proactive working culture by sharing knowledge and expertise both locally and globally.
Build effective relationships to successfully deliver high-quality outputs on all Testing.
Share experience and knowledge to the wider KYC team.
Collaborate with other Barclays teams & functions to consistently deliver an excellent ‘One Barclays’ client experience.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The job holder must be able to autonomously review a KYC File, identify gaps and duly document all the review undertaken, including the rationale for the conclusions reached.
Have specialised knowledge of key elements of Ownership Structures – Trusts, Funds etc.
Identify potential KYC gaps and make recommendations for the implementation of remedial solutions.
Provide End to End dedicated and robust specialist KYC expertise throughout the KYC Process.
Person Specification
In-depth knowledge of Know Your Customer and financial crime regulations. ACAMS or equivalent KYC/AML professional certification preferred.
Proven professional experience in the financial services industry, plus understanding of the corporate banking business and clients. Experience in roles linked to Anti Money Laundering processes and controls (in Financial Crime, Operations, Internal Control or Assurance functions).
Awareness on risks, and basic understanding of internal control frameworks.
Strong analytic skills, attention to detail/investigation and critical sense.
Positive can do attitude. Flexible and professional, focused on both quality and deadlines.
Integrity, trust & confidentiality.
Communication skills: capacity to articulate ideas and issues in a clear, plain and concise language.
The role holder will have excellent command of the English language.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Proven experience in KYC roles.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the legislation that affects Barclays and our clients (including the Data Protection Act, Companies Act, Insolvency Act, Financial Services Act, Money Laundering and confidentiality regulations).
