The successful candidate will play a key role in the European Corporate Secretariat, providing professional support services to the BE Board and its Committees. You will ensure that Barclays Europe, its European branches, and subsidiaries are managed effectively and in accordance with Barclays Group Standards and Policies. You will support the Deputy Company Secretary and collaborate with other team members across areas of shared responsibility, sharing best practices to provide seamless support to Barclays’ non-executive Directors and key internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful as a Barclays Europe Board Support, you should be versatile and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities and responsibilities. You should possess senior stakeholder management skills, including experience dealing with ExCo or board members. A confident and influential communicator, you will be able to engage with high-profile clients. Experience with diligent board books is desirable.

This position is based in Dublin

Purpose of the role

To provide administrative and technical support to the Board of Directors and its committees for Barclays Group regulated or significant legal entities, facilitating the smooth operation of the Board and the effective execution of its governance responsibilities. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of Board and Committee meeting logistics, including scheduling, room arrangements, catering, and technology support, for regulated or significant legal entities.
  • Management of the Board and Committee communications, including email correspondence, document distribution, and secure file sharing.
  • Supporting the Board and its Committees in its oversight of corporate governance matters, including risk management, compliance and sustainability.
  • Provision of administrative and logistical support for Board-led initiatives and special projects.
  • Maintenance and updating of Board and Committee member profiles and contact information.
