Explore locationJoin us at Barclays as a Communication and Governance Lead. In this role, you will join the Governance team within Financial Crime Services (FCS), with a focus on Group Economic Crime and the business units they support. You will play a key role in ensuring effective governance oversight, supporting robust control environments, and maintaining high standards across communications, reporting, and governance forums.
To be successful as a Communication and Governance Lead, you should have:
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
Strong PowerPoint skills, with experience producing high‑quality governance packs and senior‑level communications.
Exceptional attention to detail, applying a rigorous governance lens across all materials, documentation, and processes.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Strong senior stakeholder management capability, with experience engaging Managing Directors and Directors.
A background or working knowledge in financial crime, economic crime, or related control environments.
Experience operating within governance, oversight, or control frameworks in large, complex organisations.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple governance deliverables and deadlines.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role can be based out of Glasgow or Bournemouth.
Purpose of the role
To build strong and effective partnerships with the senior leadership of the organisation, advising on how to engage and influence employees to achieve the business’s goals, through an insight-based employee communications strategy, backed up with outstanding execution capability.
