Join us as a Data Governance Analyst - 21 hour contract- Working in Chief Data Analytics Office of UK Corporate Bank and Global Transaction Banking - you will be responsible for identifying and presenting key risks around data, understanding and updating metadata, data flows and data quality controls, supporting the Trade and Working Capital product within the Corporate Bank. You will be liaising with Data Stewards, Data Owners, Application Owners, Data Architects and Data Domain Owners, running and managing a data working group, therefore stakeholder communication up to MD level will be key.
This role is part of a growing team which is supporting the Barclays Corporate strategy, with the implementation of Data Products and use of data in AI models, accelerating value add of data for the business and improving client experience.
To be successful as a Data Governance Analyst, you should have experience with:
- Understanding of why data and records management is important for a financial institution and business impact of getting it wrong
- Stakeholder engagement, including communication to MD level
- Running a formal forum – Agenda, papers, minutes
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Knowledge of Barclays Data Portal or an equivalent data metadata cataloguing solution
- Knowledge of AI and how it could be used across a bank
- Knowledge of Corporate Banking/Global Transaction Banking business and its products

Purpose of the role
To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
- Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
- Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
- Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.
- Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.
