Step into the role of Lead Data Steward – Standard Settlement instruction (SSI) at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our SSI data landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness deep data & Settlements expertise to revolutionise our data offering, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences.

To be successful as a Lead Data Steward -SSI you should have experience with:

  • Working knowledge of Settlement instructions and SSI Industry platforms (DTCC ALERT or similar).
  • Proven track record in a data analysis/technology business analysis role.
  • Strong Analytical skills – ability to analyse large sets of data and draw value and add conclusions.
  • Problem solving skills – ability to solutionise when presented with complex problems.
  • Communication – ability to draw information from others as well as provide clear and concise updates.
  • Experience of Settlements or other IB Back-office functions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Self-Starter – motivated by a challenge where they need to do their own investigation to understand next steps, come up with solutions and drive them with passion.
  • Core understanding of technology – a basic/intermediate level of understanding of technology systems in the way that platforms communicate with each other.

This role will be based in our Glasgow Campus.

Purpose of the role

To monitor and ensure adherence to data quality standards, processes, and initiatives to enhance overall data quality and enable effective decision-making. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and prioritisation of critical data elements requiring quality improvement.
  • Development and maintenance of data quality dashboards and reports to track progress and communicate data quality performance.
  • Analysis and evaluation of data quality issues and trends  and perform root cause analysis to clearly articulate the problem.
  • Development and implementation of thematic data quality strategies and policies aligned with the bank's overall data governance framework.
  • Triage, prioritisation and determination of criticality of data quality issues managing associated risks, issues and dependencies, driving management and facilitation of data quality issue remediation and return to green plans.
  • Definition of requirements and specifications for proposed data remediation efforts to meet regulatory commitments, risk controls and business objectives.
  • Recommendation and implementation of data quality improvement technologies and tools, including use of machine learning.
