AVP, Equity IB Middle Office

This is an exciting time to join us as a AVP, Equity IB Middle Office.

You will be responsible for APAC Trade Support team for cash equities and agency trades which includes managing:
1. Trade Lifecycle Management: Ensure accurate and timely processing, validation, and enrichment of trades across cash equities and agency/house flows, supporting front-to-back trade integrity.
2. Exception Handling & Risk Mitigation: Proactively resolve trade breaks, booking discrepancies, and settlement issues to minimize operational risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
3. Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a central point of contact between trading desks, clients, other Middle Office and downstream teams to facilitate smooth trade processing and issue resolution.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Good number of years of experience in providing Trade Support for APAC markets including HK, China Connect, Australia, Japan, India, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand
• Experienced in trade bookings and allocations, post execution Trade Management
• Good to have some people leadership experience to assist the Team Lead to manage the team and handle client / trading desk escalations.
• Excellent communications skills, good to have Asian language skills
• Ability to manage client and internal stakeholder relationships

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

• Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
• Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
• Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
• Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
• Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
• Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
• Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
