The chance to make an impact in the Equity Derivatives world

As a Graduate based in Hong Kong, you’ll develop a solid understanding about Barclays’ awarded Equity Derivatives markets franchise, the structuring of exotic products such as structured products and the marketing of Quantitative Investment Strategies.

Through this experience, you will develop solid financial skills, new sales and marketing skills as well as a strong understanding of US, Asian & European Structured Products markets.

As a Graduate, you may be involved in:


- Clients’ pitching: Through technical understanding of products and market landscape, you’ll create impactful content and pitch materials for professional clients (private banks, IFAs, Asset Managers, Insurance companies…), communicating on product offerings, underlying, wrappers, and web platforms to clients
- Product development and innovation: Support new product development and positioning of offerings in collaboration with the structuring and sales teams
- Equity Product marketing strategy and campaigns: Create and implement successful marketing strategies to reach target audiences
- Market watch: Perform market watch analysis of traded products and trends (quantitative and qualitative analysis)
- ESG Offering: Participate in the creation of new marketing materials highlighting Barclays Markets ESG initiatives and offerings to professional clients
- Collaboration: Close collaboration with sales, structuring, legal, compliance and IT teams on a daily basis to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal guidelines
- Retail marketing regulation: Understand international and local regulators requirements for Structured Products retail marketing
- Work closely with our colleagues across Asia Pacific, EMEA and the US


Who we’re looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be pursuing an undergraduate degree with anticipated completion between December 2024 - June 2025.

Ideally, you'll also have a minimum GPA of 3.2 and an interest in business and finance. We value a curiosity to learn, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which might be showcased through your involvement in extracurricular activities.

Technical knowledge in derivatives and structured products, and on quantitative/index strategies as well as proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python) are a plus.

Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the markets division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for the global markets division.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for the global markets division.
  • Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in the global markets division.
