Explore locationJoin Barclays as a Cryptography Operations Technician, where you’ll play a key role in monitoring and maintaining our critical technology infrastructure. In this role, you will be part of a global Cryptography team within the Chief Information Security Office, Global Information Security. This team provides critical cryptographic services, including Secure Key Management, Hardware Security Modules, Application Cryptography, Strong Authentication, and PKI & Certificate services to Barclays Group.
Your primary responsibility will be to complete operational support activities in Cryptographic technology and security functions to ensure information confidentiality, integrity, and availability while supporting security risk mitigation. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical capability in Cryptography within a supportive engineering environment.
Please note that while you will work standard UK hours (9 AM–5 PM), you will also be required to perform occasional on-call duty. While weekend on-site attendance is not required, weekend shift coverage may be scheduled.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
Strong working knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management, ideally gained within a regulated environment.
Proven experience managing Major Incidents (MIM), including leading and coordinating triage sessions.
Background in operational environments, IT Infrastructure, process adherence and creation, technology delivery, service management and monitoring.
Unix/Windows operating system knowledge.
Knowledge of or experience in Cryptography and Information Security.
Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to make informed decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience in Key Management.
Experience in HSM configuration/installation/support.
Certificate management experience.
Strong documentation skills for operational procedures.
Familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence, and JIRA.
Expertise in privacy, compliance, and data protection services.

The successful candidate will be based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford.
Purpose of the role
To manage and monitor the banks cryptographic assets, for all use cases, whilst ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of sensitive data, both through BAU support and On-Call support as part of a 24/7 global team.
