Join us at Barclays as a Senior Business Analyst.  In this role you will be responsible for helping the business implement technology solutions and ensuring the needs of our customers and colleagues by supporting and determining the requirements of a project or programme, communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.  You will play a key role in supporting the communications between internal technology teams and the business, acting as a translator where necessary to incorporate how information technology can support the needs of the business teams.

To be successful in the role of a Senior Business Analyst you should have:

  • An understanding of business analysis techniques, including requirement gathering, documentation, function design and process flows.
  • Articulate your ideas, playing back the business needs in a language that can be easily understood while being able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong experience of managing stakeholders at all levels, while also being able to provide leadership to your business teams.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Experience working on payment-based programmes.
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data and articulate findings to support stakeholders in making decisions.
  • Experience of how to own and manage business requirements from inception to approval.

This role will be based in Knutsford.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
