Join us as a Colleagues Ways of Working Execution Coach, where you’ll play a pivotal, senior leadership role in accelerating Barclays’ enterprise-wide transformation to modern, outcome-driven ways of working. You’ll provide strategic coaching and oversight across multiple teams, programmes, and platforms, partnering with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Platform Owners, and senior stakeholders to embed Agile, Product, and Lean principles at scale. Your work will drive improved time-to-market, client outcomes, regulatory confidence, and colleague engagement, while ensuring sustainable change across the organisation. You’ll champion consistent adoption of Barclays’ Ways of Working (WoW) framework, influencing senior leaders and shaping enterprise delivery practices.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-wide change across large, complex organisations, coaching multiple cross-functional squads, ARTs, and platforms.

  • Credibility and influence to coach senior leaders and executives toward outcome-driven ways of working.

  • Strong practical knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, with experience enabling PI Planning, sprint execution, Inspect & Adapt, and other scaled delivery ceremonies at an enterprise level.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve flow, predictability, and delivery outcomes using Agile metrics and KPIs (e.g., flow metrics, predictability measures, OKRs).

  • Experience embedding control-by-design and regulatory-aligned Agile practices within highly governed environments.

  • Excellent facilitation, influencing, and strategic change leadership skills, with the ability to identify systemic impediments and drive resolution across organisational boundaries.

Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe certifications such as SPC (SAFe Program Consultant), SAFe Agilist, or SAFe Scrum Master, with experience enabling senior teams and organisational capability uplift.

  • Formal Agile Coaching or Scrum Master certifications (e.g., ICAgile, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org).

This role is based in London or Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives  by ensuring the business is ready to receive the agreed change (address business problems and opportunities), ensuring that change initiatives are successfully assessed and implemented to enable them to be embedded in the organisation.  

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business impact and opportunities that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business readiness strategies that will help to ensure the successful implementation of change initiatives.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about change initiatives and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Collaboration with Client Readiness, Operational Readiness & Tech Delivery to ensure business, sales, operations, client servicing and functional partners are prepared for a smooth transition of technology delivery into BAU (including Target Operating Model, Training, Communications, Service Agreements.) .
  • Management of resistance to change, ensuring that stakeholders are engaged and that their concerns are addressed.
  • Review of business readiness plans and status reports in conjunction with change delivery managers to ensure business readiness activities completed on time including newly identified risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Collaboration with project teams to ensure that change initiatives are aligned with project objectives and that change management activities are integrated into project plans.
  • Provision of guidance and support to business stakeholders, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to implement change initiatives successfully.
