Data & Analytics Business Analyst

Join us at Barclays as a data & analytics business analyst, implement data quality processes and procedures, ensuring that data relating to the corporate and finance strategic workstream is accurate. Assuring business activity is reliable and trustworthy, extract actionable insights to help the organisation improve its operation and optimise resources. You will oversee, manage and implement operational and transaction management processes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong analytical / problem solving abilities

• Practical experience of working with data in a database (e.g. SQL)

• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience

• Confidence to deal with stakeholders across all levels

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

• Regulatory reporting experience

• Advanced MS Excel skills

• Experience in business analysis project accountabilities such as gathering requirements from self-analysis, investigating issues, documenting findings, and testing solutions

Purpose of the role

To implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation, and optimise resources. 

Accountabilities

• Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.
• Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
• Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
• Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.
• Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.
