Join us as aEquity Tactical Strategies professional within our Global Markets team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying actionable equity market opportunities, developing thematic investment ideas, and delivering high-quality market insights to institutional clients and internal stakeholders.

Working closely with Sales, Trading, Research, and Portfolio Solutions teams, you will leverage market intelligence, quantitative analysis, and macroeconomic views to generate short- to medium-term equity investment strategies across sectors, regions, and market themes.

What you will be doing:

  • Generate and communicate actionable equity and sector investment ideas.
  • Analyse market, economic, and company-specific developments to identify trading opportunities.
  • Produce timely market commentary, thematic research, and tactical strategy reports.
  • Develop quantitative and fundamental frameworks to support investment recommendations.
  • Partner with Sales and Trading teams to deliver insights and solutions to institutional clients.
  • Monitor market performance, assess risks, and refine strategy recommendations accordingly.
  • Present market views and investment themes to clients and senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • A deep interest in Financial Markets
  • Significant experience within Equity Strategy, Equity Research, Sales & Trading, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or a related Global Markets function.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and articulate compelling investment ideas to a wide audience.
  • Proficiency in market data platforms such as Bloomberg.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders or clients
  • Strong understanding of equity markets, macroeconomics, portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical capability in Excel and ideally Python, SQL, or other analytical tools.

Desirable skills:

  •  Proficient in derivatives - background preferable
  •  French or German language desirable

This role is based in London.  

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To develop and execute sales strategies to generate new business, maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, and achieve revenue targets. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and objectives.
  • Presentation and pitching of financial products and services to clients, tailored to their requirements.
  • Liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth execution of client requests.
  • Stay updated on market trends, financial products, and industry regulations.
  • Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to provide clients with insights and market updates.
  • Negotiation of terms and agreements with clients to finalise sales transactions.
