As a Finance & Treasury Transformation AVP at Barclays you will be at the cutting edge of change within Barclays, supporting the build the function of the future - one that meets the new, emerging demands and one that leads the way in our industry. You will form part of a high performing, supportive global team, with the opportunity to develop in different areas depending on your desired progression.

Ideal candidates will have financial services experience, with knowledge of Treasury, Finance or Risk processes, systems and technologies. They will have experience performing data analysis using Microsoft Excel, perhaps with other data retrieval or manipulation tools (for example Tableau, Qlik Sense, Alteryx, SQL or Python). They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with talking to colleagues both within and outside the team. Desirably, they will have hands on experience either as an end user within Treasury, Finance or Risk; and/or as a business analyst performing change within Treasury, Finance or Risk. Knowledge of metrics & disclosures within Liquidity Risk (e.g. LCR or NSFR) or Interest Rate Risk (e.g. AEaR or EVE) would be especially advantageous, or other Financial disclosures would be preferable but not mandatory. Experience summarising information for stakeholders using Microsoft PowerPoint would also be considered desirable.

Purpose of the role

To develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing. 

Accountabilities

  • Functional Design: leveraging best practice concepts, and in collaboration with Line SMEs, support options analysis and recommendations as part of decision making.
  • Data Analysis/Modelling/Governance: design conceptual data model underpinning all phases of the processes, and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
  • End-to-End Process & Controls - development of target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks and aligning these components with organisational and role/service model design definitions.   .
  • Delivery/Implementation Support: update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle, and resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes. Project management for change programmes that have limited technology investment.
  • Functional Testing: develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions, ahead of user testing cycles.

  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
