As a Barclays Software Engineer, you will be a key member of a team in London software engineer who will have an exciting opportunity to work on building and delivering key software architecture components that will be scaled across the Wholesale Onboarding, GFCO and CRM group. These capabilities will include enterprise grade workflow engine, service mesh, knowledge graph/ semantic layer and UI framework.

What will you be doing?
•    Designing, developing, enhancing and maintaining software solutions leveraging technologies such as JAVA, Spring, Angular, jBPM
•    Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions
•    Working closely with CTO, CSO and control functions to design secure and scalable software solutions
•    Providing estimates for software builds, including design, development and testing 
•    Working with Cross -Functional IT teams to build and maintain architecture and design of the application and data integrations
•    Building and delivering efficient architecture and re-usable components, leveraging fullstack development and cloud engineering skills 
•    Analysing situations, evaluating alternatives and implementing solutions with in Barclay defined standards ( where applicable )

What we’re looking for:
•    Excellent .NET programming skills with experience in building MS office plugins and full stack development and knowledge of cloud infrastructure and principles
•    Experience with Salesforce.com development including LWC and Apex, Java and Micro service architecture, Unit testing practices, designing and developing REST APIs
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Experience with devops culture and ci/cd methods and principles and knowledge of standard development and build tools, e.g. GIT, TeamCity

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
•    Experience in design and development of large-scale enterprise applications
•    Wide experience in developing Java Spring boot apps and Microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or related cloud technologies
•    Experience in Workflow orchestration and knowledge of Kafka and GraphQL

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
