Join us as a " D1 Mumbai Quant Strategist" at Barclays, where you will work closely with EMEA and US counterparts to help with idea generation, book /position and risk management and drive various initiatives across the platform to help with broader D1 franchise.

The Delta-1 desk product offerings include (the underlying could be a single stock or index or custom basket of stocks): (1) Equity Swaps (2) Equity Futures/Forwards/Synthetics (3) Dividend Swaps/Futures (4) ETFs (5) Certificates/Notes. D1 business is one of the most critical building block of the derivative business. The business acts as a bridge between the vanilla cash equities and more complex derivatives business which have forwards as a pricing input. D1 business provides market access to clients via their offerings and hence form an important integral part of any cash and derivative business franchise.

To be successful as a D1 Mumbai Quant Strategist, you should have experience to

#1- Development and enhancement of existing models/tools for different D1 strategies to drive market making, revenue generation and better risk, book, and position management.

#2- Work with US desk very closely across the product universe

#3- Work with broader Mumbai team across various initiatives for the global business.

#3- D1 Mumbai team member would help in effective risk management of the positions and would work closely with trading teams to manage the risk in most effective manner. The tools and utilities developed would be used for position and book management and hence require individual to focus on various controls.

Candidate is expected to have:

* Quantitative and Analytical skills – strong with numbers

* Good Coding Skills and experience (Python/SQL)

* Good communication skills, confidence to interact with traders in London/ NY/Asia along with infrastructure partners.

* Good understanding of Derivatives, market dynamics and fundamentals

This role will be based out of Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
  • Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.
