Join us as a "AVP Research BM" at Barclays. Investment Banking Analytics works in close partnership with our product and coverage businesses to design, develop and deliver valuable data and analytic content.  We are accountable for the continued development and evolution of the analytic capabilities to support the growing reliance on data and creating model driven outcomes. The successful candidate will be required to work directly with developers and business consumers to find the most meaningful ways of presenting complex combinations of the qualitative and quantitative data to drive commercial outcomes.

To be successful as a "AVP Research BM", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate/ MBA in Finance or Law.
  • Good knowledge of Investment banking businesses and products.
  • General awareness of Financial industry regulations would be advantageous.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Track, write and update existing procedures of the Research department, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure each Research procedure is in line with guidance provided by Barclays’s Policies and Standards, and makes reference to applicable policies and standards.
  • Manage the execution and governance of all CIGAs (Central Inter-Group Agreements), Vendor Contracts, and undertake annual review of Terms, Notices and Policies.

  • Risk and Control profile.
  • Should have controls testing as part of RCSA experience.
  • Any experience with Risk and Controls, around Personal Account Dealing, Research Event Controls, Information Barriers etc.
  • MBA Finance would be helpful.
  • More around writing procedures, standards, policy documents for the Research department.
  • Candidate is required to review the current processors, write organisation new processors where required, ensure that those processors are in line with the guidelines that is provided by Barclays policies Standards.
  • Tier 2 would work.
  • Finance knowledge is preferable, Investment Banking, Product knowledge is helpful, it will help the candidate understand the business quicker.
  • Looking for someone who is good at understanding the agreement, understanding the requirements overrate, reading regulatory reporting like SEBI, good at audit, compliance.

This role will be based out of Nirlon Knowledge Park (NKP, Goregaon) in Mumbai

Purpose of the role

To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients. 

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
  • Research may range from individual company or sector notes, through to long dated thematic reports.
  • Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face to face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
  • Engagement with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders, to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally. Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable Clients for your Research.
  • Provision of insights and Research views to internal Clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
  • Collaboration with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
