Join us at Barclays’ Compliance Assurance team, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with financial crime risks while working with stakeholders across APAC and globally. Wide knowledge of Private Banking, Investment Banking, and Corporate Banking business, preferably with a India Private Banking will be a plus .You should possess exceptional investigative skills with the capability to identify associated key Financial Crime risks and areas of non-conformance with regulatory and legislative requirements and lack of controls, identify root cases, themes and trends along with experience of discussing contentious observations with management and recommending necessary actions. You should demonstrate a track record of high performance and effective execution and ability to deliver high quality work in a timely and structured manner to succeed in this role.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduate/post graduate degree.

  • Team player, proactive, eager to learn and challenge status quo.

  • Clear and concise communication, good email and report writing skills.

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Financial Crime and India Financial Crime regulatory requirements.

  • In-depth knowledge in the Private Banking and Customer Due Diligence and Know Your Customer areas.

Desirable skillsets/good to have:

  • Have been involved in the 1st Line of Defense/2nd Line of Defense testing or Internal Audit on FC risks and controls in the Private Banking area.

  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists or International Compliance Association certified.

  • Have data analytics skillsets.

This role will be based out of Mumbai/Pune.

Purpose of the role

To provide assurance over the effectiveness of Compliance Risk Management across the bank. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and refresh of the Compliance Assurance Annual Plan, ensuring that the Annual Plan focuses on areas of highest risk and value in relation to Compliance Risk.
  • Delivery of risk-based assurance activity to validate the effectiveness of controls and processes designed to mitigate Compliance Risk.
  • Identification of potential risks associated with non-compliance or control weaknesses in relation to Compliance Risk.
  • Verbal and written communication of Compliance Assurance reports and issues to enhance the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management and oversight.
  • Build, development and maintenance of effective relationships between Compliance Assurance and stakeholders across the three lines of defence.
  • Proactive adoption of Data Analytics capabilities to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and coverage of Assurance work.
  • Continued focus on the Barclays Mindset and Consistently Excellent to enhance the Assurance that we deliver, how it is delivered and the culture within the bank.
