Join us as a "Supervisory Analyst" at Barclays, where predominantly this role will be performed for FICC global research output. However, there will be extensive involvement with and coverage of Equity research.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with Research, as well as job-specific skillsets.

To be successful as a Supervisory Analyst, you should have experience to

#1- Reviewing research to ensure it complies with US regulatory and firm requirements (the key function of the Supervisory Analyst role).

#2- Acting as a key safeguard in identifying and mitigating reputational risk in research content.

#3- Editorial work on the same material. Primarily this involves making the presentation of the argument more commercial as well as ensuring it reads well in English.

Some other highly valued skills include:·

#1- Screening companies mentioned in each report and routing research through to the compliance control room where necessary.

#2- Distributing research through the firm’s publishing platform.

#3- Ensuring all trades in research reports are logged and tracked as part of the firm’s policies pursuant to the Marketing Abuse Directive.

Candidate is expected to have:

* Liaising with analysts and other key stakeholders over ad hoc issues in research as and when they arise.

*Liaising with other members of the SA and research production team to ensure that research sent out is of the highest quality in terms of compliance, content, and format.

*Approving models, PowerPoint presentations as well as blast voicemails where appropriate and feasible.

*Be able to prioritize workloads and work well both individually and in a collaborative sense with other team members.

*Highly organized approach to work, must be aware of confidentiality issues.

*Highly proactive, motivated, hardworking, committed, flexible, and can-do approach. Must be able to think laterally and identify potential issues/conflicts within research material.

*Attention to detail is a must even in a busy environment.

*Ability to build strong relationships with internal peers and research analysts alike.

*Detailed knowledge of SA principles and general regulatory issues that touch upon research.

*Strong editorial skills

*Fluent in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Comfortable with workflow systems, specifically html-based

This role is regulated by Reserve Bank of India.

This role will be based out of Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To review draft research content to ensure that it meets the Barclays Research departments editorial standards, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements, prior to its distribution to Clients 

Accountabilities

  • Review of submitted Research in line with Barclays standards; work with the authoring Analyst collaboratively to edit and amend reports to a satisfactory outcome.
  • Identification of Conflicts of interest and potential reputational or regulatory issues within Research reports; ensure these are highlighted and managed in partnership with the Compliance Control room and other relevant functions.
  • Provision of training and guidance to Research Analysts on relevant systems, best practices and procedures for producing Research, resolving issues with the help of control partners and Research management .
