BIA Markets Operations AVP

Join us as a Barclays Internal Audit Global Markets Operations AVP, where you will enhance operational efficiency and drive advancements within the Global Markets team. In this role, you’ll support audit scoping, assess risks and controls, evaluate control effectiveness, and perform issue validation to strengthen processes. You’ll collaborate across teams, foster strong relationships, and contribute to continuous monitoring and the delivery of audit plans.

To be successful as a Barclays Internal Audit Global Markets Operations AVP, you should have

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of service
• Previous experience in risk-based Markets Operations auditing/risk control activities within a complex or Financial Services environment
• Relevant professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or CIA (CISA is also a plus)

Other highly valued skills include

• Prior work with or exposure to analytics, coding languages such as Python or SQL, and/or other data science/machine learning techniques is helpful but not required
• Communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines

This role is located in New York or the Whippany, NJ offices.

Salary for New York:

Minimum Salary $95,000

Maximum Salary $150,000

Purpose of the role

To support the development of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
• Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
• Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
• Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.
• Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
