Join Barclays as a Business Manager - AVP. In this role, you will be responsible for strategy, budgeting, cost structure, regulatory reform, and front office technology. You will work closely with Macro desk heads as well as with country heads and country COOs. This role involves constant liaising with, and often provides the link between, trading and infrastructure areas: IT, Product Control, Risk & Control, Operations, Legal and Compliance. As such, your role is key to the smooth and efficient running of the business in the region and involves the firm in most areas and at all levels, as part of an effective, holistic, and cross-functional model. The role also involves working closely with the Global Macro Business Management team on a number of local and global projects. You will have the unique opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues across several businesses and functions.

To be successful as a Business Manager - AVP, you should have experience with:

  • Navigating complex, cross-border environments with a focus on aligning financial strategy with business goals

  • Leading cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and stakeholder alignment

  • In-depth knowledge of FX, interest rate swaps, and derivatives

  • Strong understanding of global financial regulations and compliance requirements

This role is located in New York, NY.

Minimum Salary: $95,000

Maximum Salary: $120,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To enable the success of the business and assist senior leaders navigate complex challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
  • Management and coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize business processes and strengthen the control environment.
  • Improvement of operational efficiency within the organisation including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Development of performance reporting for key metrics that reinforce the strategic objectives of the division and support the external commitments made. Involvement in aspects of financial analysis and budget management, including assistance in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
  • Support to business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, joiner/mover/leaver actions.
