In this role, you will be part of a high-impact global group ensuring time-critical Sustainability Enhanced Due Diligence is conducted on clients and transactions in alignment with Barclays’ sustainability commitments and compliance standards. As a key member of this team, you’ll combine your sustainability experience and financial services knowledge to assess highly detailed, multi-dimensional sustainability issues and strengthen client controls frameworks. You will be at the intersection of risk management, sustainability strategy, and client due diligence, supporting the bank’s transition toward a more sustainable financial system.
To be successful as an IB Sustainability Client Controls and Due Diligence AVP, you should have:
Experience in sustainability, ESG policy development, or a related field
Financial Services or Consultancy background
Experience in conducting due diligence, particularly in assessing sustainability and human rights compliance
Research skills with the ability to gather and assess data effectively
An inquisitive and investigative mindset, with the ability to identify key insights and communicate these effectively with senior stakeholders
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Knowledge of environmental and social impact assessment methodologies
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to Sustainability
Considerable people skills to engage effectively with senior bankers and other stakeholders
Staying resilient and guided by principles when crafting strategies in complex situations
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in New York, New York.
Minimum Salary: $110,000
Maximum Salary: $145,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.
