What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Investment Banking Coverage – VP in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

• Provide financial advisory and capital raising services to corporate and institutional clients.
• Support an integrated coverage model, partnering with product and regional teams to advise clients on a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity financings, and restructurings, to help clients achieve strategic and financial objectives.
• Analyze the energy and climate technology sector and macroeconomic environment using financial, economic, commodity, and capital markets concepts, together with internal analytical techniques, proprietary models, and business processes, to support clients’ financing, funding, investment, and corporate strategic decisions.
• Execute investment banking assignments across corporate finance products and transaction types for energy and climate technology clients, including equity and debt financings (bank debt, loans, and capital markets transactions) and M&A advisory engagements, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
• Prepare new-business and marketing materials and coordinate internal workstreams required to deliver transactions.
• Perform quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and valuation work to evaluate transaction impact, assess corporate strategic alternatives, and prepare investment recommendations.
• Construct models using proprietary frameworks including financial projections and forecasting, merger models, accretion/dilution analysis, and debt paydown models.
• Apply valuation methodologies including comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow, and leveraged buyout analyses.
• Conduct industry and company research.
• Evaluate current and historical financial data.
• Perform cost/benefit analyses.
• Interpret information related to market prices, capital structure, return metrics, investment-risk trends, and macroeconomic, commodity, and sector influences affecting transactions and recommendations.
• Conduct internal and external due diligence on companies and financial products to assess transaction feasibility.
• Perform credit analysis.
• Apply internal underwriting frameworks to evaluate commitment and underwriting risks.
• Prepare and present oral and written analyses regarding economic trends, companies, and industries, synthesizing findings into recommendations and presentations, and utilizing spreadsheets and other analytical outputs to support client discussions.
• Maintain client and internal stakeholder interaction to support relationship management, respond to information requests, and contribute to business and idea generation.
• Manage transactions with minimal supervision by coordinating activities with junior team members and with external parties (including clients, legal counsel, and accountants) involved in transaction execution.

Minimum Salary: $255,000.00 per year

Maximum Salary: $275,000.00 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Accountabilities

• Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.   .
• Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.  .
• In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.  .
• Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.  .
• Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.  .
• Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable.  .
• To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.  .
