Data Product Lead

Join Barclays UK as a Data Product Lead and play a defining role in how we use data to power the future of banking. Sitting within our Chief Data & Analytics Office, you will act as the product management lead for a key data domain, shaping the product vision, setting the roadmap, and leading a multidisciplinary team to bring it to life.

To be successful as a Data Product Lead, you should have experience with:

• Previous product management expertise with a track record of owning strategy, roadmap, and delivery for complex data or technology products.

• Demonstrated people leadership experience and the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams and mentor future product managers.

• Exceptional senior stakeholder management and communication capabilities, with experience influencing executive decision-makers.

• The ability to drive product backlogs, prioritise features, and deliver large-scale initiatives in an agile environment.

• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and modern cloud-based data platforms, with enough technical fluency to partner effectively with engineering and analytics teams.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience applying AI and machine learning within enterprise-scale products.

• Background in financial services or other highly regulated industries where data products are central to business value.

• Familiarity with technical product management practices and emerging data technologies that support scalable, data-driven solutions.

This role will be located at our Manchester, Northampton or Knutsford office.

Purpose of the role

To collaborate with product owners and other technical teams involved in the product development process and utilise their knowledge of the bank’s technologies to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap. 

Accountabilities

• Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
• Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
• Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
• Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
• Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.
