Explore locationJoin us as an Economic Crime Risk Manager, where you will support the development, maintenance and enhancement of desktop procedures that underpin economic crime risk management and controls across the Business Banking division. Working within an established risk framework, you will help ensure procedural documentation remains accurate, up to date and aligned with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practice.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help promote consistency in processes, strengthen the control environment, and support the effective management of economic crime risk. Opportunities to contribute to regulatory change initiatives and horizon scanning activities will also arise as part of the role.
To be successful as an Economic Crime Risk Manager, you must have the following:
Experience within a first-line Economic Crime role, with a strong understanding of identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks across business activities and products.
Proven experience within Financial Services, with a good understanding of Business Banking products, customer types, and associated risk considerations.
Knowledge of UK financial crime legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice relating to Economic Crime risk management.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail when assessing risks and reviewing customer onboarding and due diligence activities.
Experience producing high-quality written documentation, including drafting, updating, and maintaining desktop procedures, guidance, and operating standards.
Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and industry guidance, including JMLSG requirements and best practice.
Experience supporting the implementation and enhancement of risk and control frameworks across the customer lifecycle.
Other highly valued skills include:
Recognised financial crime qualification, such as ICA AML Diploma, ACAMS or equivalent.
Experience supporting horizon scanning activities and assessing the impact of regulatory or industry developments, with the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
Experience working with regulatory change, policy implementation, or control testing activities.
Knowledge of Business Banking customer journeys and associated economic crime risks.

This role can be based in our London or Northampton Offices.

To support the Risk Function in delivering it’s objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.
