Join us as an Analyst within the Pan-bank CCO team at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. Successful candidate will be a proven self-starter with the ability to set-up a new process, assess the integrity and effectiveness of banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk, learn complex subject matter quickly, multi-task and adapt to an ever-changing regulatory environment.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as but not limited to:

  • Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an efficient and effective control framework
  • Producing exception monitoring reports for management, highlighting key risks, trends and incidents.
  • Building holistic insights that can help predict risks and identify areas where efforts should be focused to manage those risks effectively.
  • Help to ensure Barclays has effective processes, procedures, risk assessments & controls that can be evidenced in accordance with regulations and the Barclays Control Framework
  • Leverage technical skills to provide advice to the Business to ensure they have the knowledge and capability to identify, design and implement appropriate Controls to ensure risks are identified and proactively managed
  • Engage with the wider CCO team and assist with other control initiatives, if requested.
  • Establishing a clear escalation framework for compliance breaches or control failures, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication.

To be successful as an Analyst within the Pan-bank CCO team you should:

  • Understand risks and controls that results in efficient, sustainable solutions.
  • Effective problem solver able to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and deliver solutions.
  • Demonstrate well developed insights, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions based on the analysis of multiple sources of quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of remediation balancing risk against wider business objective. This will require strong listening and communication skills, in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking, sound judgement, an ability and willingness to seek and reflect on the views of others, recognising where escalation is required and taking well-reasoned decisions, using a broad range of information sourced from multiple individuals.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong work ethic and discipline
  • Experience in a control, governance or oversight function.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders, including presenting at meetings, supporting and challenging stakeholders where appropriate
  • Pragmatic, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • University degree or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Can-do attitude and has experience in delivering regulatory remediation deliverables within agreed deadlines.
  • Track record of working successfully with various stakeholder groups

This role will be based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.  

Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
  • Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank’s control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
  • Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
  • Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
