To be successful as a Business Analyst you should have experience with:

  • Experience as a developer, business analyst, middle office analyst or trading support analyst

  • The role would involve strong analysis and joiner would be expected to work closely with business stakeholders and other regional development team members.

  • Experience/Knowledge to work with relational database, preferably MS SQL Server/T-SQL.

  • A good team player and excellent communication skills – verbal & written and a strong advocate of the control environment

  • Data migration & Data/Gap Analysis

  • Analytical thinking

 Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Finance knowledge including Investment Banking products and concepts including  RWA (risk weighted assets) and revenues/income, with experience of financial reporting.

  • Assist in all relevant stages of the Project’s lifecycle including analysis, design, test & deployment/go-live

  • Definition of comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flow diagrams, testing plans and scenarios, input into business and technology procedures; to be executed against quarterly and monthly release cycles

  • Definition & regular communication of progress against individual task plans that roll-up into project plans

  • Define and interpret requirements and roadmaps for delivery effective working relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors within global business units and delivery teams, particularly across Front Office trading areas, Run the Bank technology teams and application leads

  • Identify and act on opportunities to deliver efficiencies, reduce timescales and improve flows between business areas

  • Continually assess processes with a view to implement improvements

  • Maintain positive stakeholder relationship

  • Maintain and build partnerships with level 1, level 2 support and other IT areas

  • Ensure compliance to internal and external (regulatory) standards within the team

  • Ensuring engineering activities conform to bank standards and policies

  • Enable decommissioning of legacy systems and platforms

  • Working directly with front office trading, operations and other business users to collect requirements and provide regular status updates and support Ability to quickly build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and comfortable adapting style to suit different audiences as required

  • Previous experience in managing and interacting with multiple stakeholders at all levels

  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of how the bank operates and the metrics used to measure performance

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
