Join us as a " Data & Record Business Partner" at Barclays. Step into the role of a Data and Records Governance, where you will work to ensure Data and Records Management Standards are being managed and governed across the UK business.  Working across business and customer journeys to understand, assess and capture the various data points, the risks associated with them and elicit controls requirements. You will be working alongside Business subject matter experts, Operations, Architects and Technology. Combining business knowledge with a high capacity for analyzing data. To be successful as Data & Record Business Partner, you should have experience with:

  • Data & Records governance, data controls, data lineage and associated methodologies.
  • Understanding of data products, cloud and data warehouses.
  • Business Domain (Retail or Banking) and Regulatory reporting experience.
  • Working in a regulated environment and solid understanding of data and control risk management.
  • Development and maintenance of data lineage, data quality, dashboards and reports to track progress and communicate data quality performance.
  • Analysis and evaluation of data and trends and perform root cause analysis to clearly articulate the problem.
  • Development and implementation of thematic data quality strategies and policies aligned with the bank's overall data governance framework.
  • Triage, prioritization and determination of criticality of data points managing associated risks, issues and dependencies, driving management and facilitation of issue remediation and return to green plans.
  • Definition of requirements and specifications for proposed data remediation efforts to meet regulatory commitments, risk controls and business objectives.
  • Recommendation and implementation of data quality improvement technologies and tools, including use of machine learning.

Additional relevant skills include:

  • Understanding of different technologies around the execution of data control.
  • Ability to proactively drive change.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills to be able to maintain collaborative working relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in multiple large teams delivering complex services involving the highest standards of resilience, risk and governance controls.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and insight generation to derive actionable insights from data.

Purpose of the role

To enable effective data governance, risk management, and compliance within the bank, acting as a liaison between business units and the Data & Records Management (DRM) function, translating business needs into actionable strategies and ensuring efficient implementation of DRM.  

Accountabilities

  • Partnership with the local business unit to ensure successful implementation of data & records governance frameworks as appropriate to the needs of the business unit.
  • Provision of guidance and support on records classification, retention, storage, retrieval and disposal to business units.
  • Monitoring local data quality and records metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identification of opportunities for data improvement and optimisation.
  • Partnership with the relevant business unit to support their data priorities and ensure appropriate decisions related to data & records are embedded in their BAU decision making and change programs.
