To be successful as an Engineer; you should have experience with:

• Strong expertise in Oracle Database administration

• Hands-on experience in:

  • RDBMS, PL/SQL programming

  • Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Triggers

  • Indexing strategies (creation, optimization, performance tuning)

• Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization and performance tuning

• Experience in database design, schema management, and data modeling

• Ability to analyze and resolve application-level database performance issues

• Experience in supporting application releases and database deployments

• Understanding of data integrity, security, and availability concepts

• Exposure to backup and recovery processes

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Exposure to AI / Machine Learning concepts

• Experience or awareness of Generative AI (Gen AI) technologies

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)

• Familiarity with cloud database platforms

• Experience with performance monitoring tools (AWR, OEM, etc.)

• Basic shell scripting knowledge

• Knowledge of DB2, Teradata

• Knowledge about service-now change management system

• Knowledge of java programming

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
