·Design and deliver distributed systems, API platforms, user‑facing web applications, and automation frameworks supporting large‑scale infrastructure environments.

·Provide technical direction on coding standards, architectural patterns, system design, testing, and observability.

Solution Design & Technical Strategy

·Define and evolve end‑to‑end workflow and application designs in partnership with product, platform, and infrastructure teams.

·Translate complex cross‑domain requirements (network, compute, storage, virtualisation, security, and operations) into robust software solutions.

·Take ownership of technical delivery for major initiatives from design through to deployment, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability.

Core Projects Owned by the Team

You will contribute to and lead key initiatives such as:

·Full‑stack application development supporting engineering use cases, workflow automation, and user self‑service.

·Infrastructure‑as‑Code–driven systems that enable consistent, auditable, and scalable deployment across data centres and cloud environments.

·Infrastructure standardisation through automated frameworks, policy enforcement, and orchestration tooling.

·Automated compliance and self‑remediation frameworks that detect, report, and correct configuration drift.

·Development of the next‑generation automation and orchestration platform, enabling secure, high‑speed delivery at scale.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

·Build strong partnerships with engineers and leadership across networks, compute, storage, voice, risk, and security teams.

·Communicate technical designs and decisions clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

·As a senior member of the team, mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, provide code reviews, and support capability growth across the organisation.

Decision‑Making & Problem Solving

·Operate confidently in highly complex environments with large numbers of systems, services, and end nodes.

·Make well‑informed technical decisions in environments where changes can have significant cross‑service impact.

·Work with large data sets, designing efficient pipelines for processing, analysing, and acting on operational and configuration data.

·Proactively identify technical risks and ensure architectural choices align with long‑term sustainability and firm‑wide patterns.

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure all development, deployment, and operational activities comply with regulatory obligations, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and all Barclays policies and standards.
Software must be secure‑by‑design, compliant, auditable, and aligned to enterprise engineering controls.

Join us as a Full Stack Engineer. At Barclays, we don’t just adapt to the future, we create it. As a Full Stack Engineer you will support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

To be a successful Full Stack Engineer, you should have experience with:

The candidate should have proven experience delivering software solutions closely integrated with networking and infrastructure platforms, ideally within a large multi‑site global financial environment or an equivalently complex service provider. Experience working with infrastructure APIs, automation platforms, or public cloud environments is highly transferable, as the role involves building full‑stack software that interacts with and automates underlying infrastructure systems.

  •  Expert‑level backend engineering in Golang and Python (Django, FastAPI): designing scalable services, robust API contracts, and resilient distributed systems.
  •  Strong front‑end development with React: component architecture, state management, and seamless integration with backend services and APIs.
  •  API engineering excellence: building and integrating REST APIs (and gateways), with secure authN/Z, versioning, performance tuning, and high‑throughput data flows.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with monitoring/collector protocols such as SNMP Polls and Traps, Syslog, NetFlow, Streaming Telemetry, NetConf/RestConf for state data, etc.
  • Hands‑on with PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimisation, API‑driven data access) and familiarity with document stores.
  • Solid grasp of infrastructure‑adjacent engineering: cloud APIs (e.g., Openshift), containerised workloads, and service orchestration patterns.
  • Experience of having worked with CMDB platforms and an understanding of Enterprise level network management platforms.
  • Experience of IPAM and SoR tools such as Nautobot/Netbox
  • Experience in operating in a Scrum/Agile/SDLC environment
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems in terms of daemons, services, file system, rpm packages, etc.
  • Designing and building full stack solutions based on microservices architecture preferably using Openshift for containerisation alongside python Django

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in Pune.
